BumGenius Flip reusable nappies are a very easy to use, reliable cloth nappy option comprising of a reusable outer wrap and the choice of washable or disposable liners (arriving soon) to give flexibility in your nappy changing.

Each BG Flip trial pack includes a one-size waterproof nappy cover and a One-Size Stay-Dry insert.  The outer nappy wrap is made from breathable PUL fabric and has a poppered butterfly closure which is very adjustable.  The absorbent insert is made of 3 layers of microfibre topped with stay dry microsuede that wicks away moisture from your baby's skin keeping it dry.

The rise of the waterproof shell is adjusted using poppers at the front of the outer to fit the size of your baby and the stay dry insert placed within the nappy wrap. At each nappy change the absorbent insert is replaced with a fresh one and (unless excessively wet or soiled) the outer is reused.

For older babies & toddlers, heavy wetters, for long journeys or overnight use, additional inserts can be used within the outer wrap (available to purchase separately).  We recommend the number of outers and sets of inserts (one or more depending on the age of baby) mirrors that of a two piece nappy system.

Bum Genius Flip

I saw this nappy at Real Nappy Week and decided to buy a couple as a gift for my Sister in Law and one for myself to try with the stay dry inserts. I've found the Flip system a revelation. The nappies are slim and well fitting for all ages they fit my 7mth and 3yr old sons perfectly. The inserts dry really quickly and the fact the wrap only needs a wipe unless really soiled is a bonus. Holds in liquid and solids extremely well and as yet have had no leakage or wicking so I'm very impressed. I have also used cotton prefolds with the wrap and due to how they are designed the prefold doesn't move around like it does in other tyes of wrap.

I decided to try the flip nappies before a holiday because I liked the idea of the eco-disposable inserts instead of having to rely on branded disposable nappies. I bought the covers, some stay dry, organic cotton, and some disposable inserts. I've only tried the disposable inserts once overnight at the moment but they passed the test very well and my baby was fine and dry in the morning. I just love these nappies so much that I've ended up buying more covers and washable inserts and now my daughter is wearing them full time. I love the fact that the Flips are very trim and neat fitting and pretty too. They fit my 9 months old daughter really well- no leaks at all, even when the insert is soaked. I prefer the stay dry inserts overall because the microfleece suede on top means that there is no need to use liners (I use fleece liners with the cotton inserts) and they are also quicker to use (very little folding) and dry faster than the organic cotton inserts. I also like the fact that the cover can be just wiped cleaned if wet and reused over and over again. This means the system is quite economical because you can do with just 4-6 outers and maybe 12 inserts if you do a laundry every 2/3 days.
